AIDA

Description

The AIDA (axin interactor, dorsalization associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

AIDA is a human gene.

AIDA acts as a ventralizing factor during embryogenesis. It inhibits axin-mediated JNK activation by binding to axin and disrupting axin homodimerization. This action antagonizes a Wnt/beta-catenin-independent dorsalization pathway activated by AXIN/JNK-signaling.

AIDA is also known as C1orf80.
