ARHGAP27

Description

The ARHGAP27 (Rho GTPase activating protein 27) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

ARHGAP27 is a human gene encoding a protein that belongs to a large family of proteins responsible for activating Rho-type guanosine triphosphate (GTP) metabolizing enzymes. This protein may play a role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Multiple isoforms of this protein are generated through alternative splicing.

ARHGAP27, a Rho GTPase-activating protein, plays a potential role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis. It functions by converting Rho-type GTPases to an inactive GDP-bound state. Notably, ARHGAP27 demonstrates activity toward CDC42 and RAC1.

ARHGAP27 is also known as CAMGAP1, PP905, SH3D20, SH3P20.
