Description

The BNC2 (basonuclin zinc finger protein 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

BNC2 is a human gene that produces zinc finger protein basonuclin-2. This protein has been shown to impact skin pigmentation in Europeans. The BNC2 gene region contains a high percentage (60%) of Neanderthal DNA.

BNC2 is also known as BSN2, LUTO, bn2.
