The CALN1 (calneuron 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

Calcium-binding protein 8 is a protein encoded by the CALN1 gene in humans. It shares high similarity with the calmodulin family of calcium-binding proteins and contains two EF-hand domains and potential calcium-binding sites. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants.

CALN1 is also known as CABP8.
