CCDC88B

Description

The CCDC88B (coiled-coil domain containing 88B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

CCDC88B plays a crucial role in T-cell development and inflammation. It regulates T-cell maturation and function, influencing the expression of activation, proliferation, and cytokine production markers. CCDC88B also enhances NK cell cytotoxicity by controlling the positioning of the microtubule-organizing center (MTOC) at the cytotoxic synapse, facilitating lytic granule transport along microtubules, and promoting dynein-mediated clustering at the MTOC. Furthermore, CCDC88B interacts with HSPA5, stabilizing its interaction with ERN1, thereby suppressing ERN1-induced JNK activation and apoptosis caused by endoplasmic reticulum stress.

CCDC88B is also known as BRLZ, CCDC88, HKRP3, gipie.
