Description

The CLUH (clustered mitochondria homolog) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

CLU (Clustered mitochondria (cluA/CLU1) homolog) is a human protein encoded by the CLUH gene.

CLU protein is an mRNA-binding protein involved in the proper cytoplasmic distribution of mitochondria. It specifically binds mRNAs of nuclear-encoded mitochondrial proteins in the cytoplasm, and regulates the transport or translation of these transcripts close to mitochondria.
