Description

The COA4 (cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor 4 homolog) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

COA4 is thought to play a role in the assembly of cytochrome c oxidase (COX), a key enzyme in the electron transport chain responsible for generating ATP, the cell's energy currency.

COA4 is also known as CHCHD8, CMC3, E2IG2.
