INIP
Description
The INIP (INTS3 and NABP interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
INIP is a component of the SOSS complex, a multiprotein complex that operates downstream of the MRN complex to promote DNA repair and the G2/M checkpoint. The SOSS complex binds to single-stranded DNA at DNA lesions and impacts various aspects of the cellular DNA damage response, including cell-cycle checkpoint activation, recombinational repair, and maintaining genomic stability. INIP is essential for effective homologous recombination-dependent repair of double-strand breaks (DSBs) and ATM-dependent signaling pathways.
