The KCNK7 (potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
KCNK7, also known as K2P7.1, is a protein encoded by the KCNK7 gene in humans. It belongs to the potassium channel protein superfamily and contains two pore-forming P domains. While it is thought to be involved in potassium channel activity, it has not been shown to form a functional channel on its own. KCNK7 may require other non-pore-forming proteins to become active. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
KCNK7 is also known as K2p7.1, TWIK3.
