The KLF14 (KLF transcription factor 14) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

KLF14, also known as Basic transcription element-binding protein 5 (BTEB5), is a protein encoded by the KLF14 gene. It's a member of the Krüppel-like factor family of transcription factors, regulating the expression of numerous genes, including TGFβRII. KLF14 is found in various tissues, lacks introns, and shows parent-specific expression. It appears to be a central regulator of gene expression in adipose tissue. Like other KLF family members, it has three zinc-finger domains near the C-terminus. Human KLF14 is 323 amino acids long, with a molecular weight of 33,124. Research suggests a link between KLF14 and coronary artery disease, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes.

KLF14, also known as BTEB5, is a transcription factor that plays a key role in regulating gene expression, particularly in adipose tissue.
