KRTAP12-2 is a component of the interfilamentous matrix in the hair cortex. It forms extensive disulfide bonds with hair keratins, contributing to the rigidity and strength of the hair shaft.

KRTAP12-2 is also known as KAP12.2, KRTAP12.2.
