LAGE3

Description

The LAGE3 (L antigen family member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

LAGE3 is a component of the EKC/KEOPS complex, which plays a critical role in the modification of tRNAs. Specifically, the complex is responsible for adding a threonylcarbamoyl group to adenosine at position 37 (t(6)A37) in tRNAs that recognize codons starting with adenine. This modification is likely achieved through the transfer of the threonylcarbamoyl moiety from threonylcarbamoyl-AMP (TC-AMP) to the N6 group of A37. LAGE3 acts as a dimerization module, contributing to the overall structure and function of the EKC/KEOPS complex.

LAGE3 is also known as CVG5, DXS9879E, DXS9951E, ESO3, GAMOS2, ITBA2, Pcc1.
