Description
The LDOC1 (LDOC1 regulator of NFKB signaling) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.
LDOC1 is a human protein encoded by the LDOC1 gene. It contains a leucine zipper-like motif and a proline-rich region, suggesting a potential role in protein-protein interactions. The protein localizes to the nucleus and is down-regulated in some cancer cell lines. Its function is thought to involve regulating the transcriptional response mediated by the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB), a crucial transcription factor in immune and inflammatory responses. Due to its downregulation in cancer cells and potential role in NF-kappaB signaling, LDOC1 has been proposed as a tumor suppressor gene. It has been shown to interact with ABLIM1, a protein involved in various cellular processes, including cytoskeletal organization and cell signaling.
