MACROD2

Description

The MACROD2 (mono-ADP ribosylhydrolase 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

MACROD2 removes ADP-ribose from aspartate and glutamate residues in proteins that have a single ADP-ribose attached. It does not remove poly-ADP-ribose. MACROD2 also removes acetyl groups from O-acetyl-ADP ribose, a signaling molecule produced when acetylated lysine residues in histones and other proteins are deacetylated.

MACROD2 is also known as C20orf133, C2orf133.
