METTL17
Description
The METTL17 (methyltransferase like 17) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.
METTL17 is a potential S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent RNA methyltransferase. It is thought to be crucial for stabilizing the mitochondrial small ribosomal subunit (mt-SSU). This stability is necessary for proper protein translation within mitochondria.
METTL17 is also known as METT11D1.
