MORC4

Description

The MORC4 (MORC family CW-type zinc finger 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

MORC4 acts as a histone methylation reader, specifically recognizing and binding to various methylation states of lysine 4 on histone H3 (H3K4). It can bind to non-methylated (H3K4me0), monomethylated (H3K4me1), dimethylated (H3K4me2), and trimethylated (H3K4me3) forms of H3K4. Notably, MORC4 exhibits a preference for binding in the following order: H3K4me3 > H3K4me2 > H3K4me1 > H3K4me0.

MORC4 is also known as ZCW4, ZCWCC2, dJ75H8.2.
