The NAPG (NSF attachment protein gamma) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.
NAPG, encoding gamma-soluble NSF attachment protein (SNAP), is a vital component of the cellular membrane transport system. The protein shares 95% similarity with its bovine counterpart and is crucial for platelet exocytosis, regulating membrane fusion events during this process.
NAPG plays a critical role in the movement of vesicles between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the Golgi apparatus.
