NCS1

Description

The NCS1 (neuronal calcium sensor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

NCS1 or NCS1 may refer to:

NCS1, also known as neuronal calcium sensor 1, is a calcium-dependent regulator of G protein-coupled receptor phosphorylation. It directly regulates GRK1 but not other GRKs (GRK2-GRK5). NCS1 can substitute for calmodulin and stimulates PI4KB kinase activity. It participates in long-term synaptic plasticity by interacting with PICK1 and may also contribute to neuron differentiation by inhibiting N-type voltage-gated calcium channels.

NCS1 is also known as FLUP, FREQ.
