NEUROG1

Description

The NEUROG1 (neurogenin 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

Neurogenin-1 is a protein encoded by the NEUROG1 gene in humans. It interacts with CREB-binding protein and decapentaplegic homolog 1.

Neurogenin-1 acts as a transcriptional regulator, playing a crucial role in initiating neuronal differentiation. It activates transcription by binding to the E box (5'-CANNTG-3') sequence within DNA. Neurogenin-1 associates with chromatin at enhancer regulatory elements within genes that control key neurogenesis regulators.

NEUROG1 is also known as AKA, CCDDRD, Math4C, NEUROD3, bHLHa6, ngn1.
