CNP-22 is a hormone that plays a role in endochondral ossification by regulating the proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes in the cartilaginous growth plate. It may also have vasoactive and natriuretic effects. CNP-22 acts by binding and stimulating NPR2 to produce cGMP, and it binds the clearance receptor NPR3.
