PDYN

Description

The PDYN (prodynorphin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

Leu-enkephalins, produced from the PDYN gene, compete with and mimic the effects of opiate drugs. These peptides play a crucial role in various physiological functions, including pain perception and the body's response to stress.
