TRA2A

Description

The TRA2A (transformer 2 alpha homolog) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

The TRA2A gene encodes a protein known as Transformer-2 protein homolog alpha. This protein belongs to the transformer 2 homolog family and contains two RS domains and an RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. TRA2A is a phosphorylated nuclear protein that binds to specific RNA sequences and regulates pre-mRNA splicing. Multiple transcript variants of this gene have been identified, but the complete structure of some of these variants remains unclear.

TRA2A is a sequence-specific RNA-binding protein that plays a role in regulating pre-mRNA splicing.

TRA2A is also known as AWMS1, HSU53209.
