TTF2


Description

The TTF2 (transcription termination factor 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

TTF2 is a human gene that encodes a protein belonging to the SWI2/SNF2 family. This protein exhibits dsDNA-dependent ATPase activity and RNA polymerase II termination activity. It interacts with cell division cycle 5-like, associates with human splicing complexes, and plays a role in pre-mRNA splicing.

TTF2 acts as a transcription termination factor by coupling ATP hydrolysis with the removal of RNA polymerase II from the DNA template. It may also contribute to mitotic transcription repression and participate in pre-mRNA splicing.
