DLGAP3
Description
The DLGAP3 (DLG associated protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
DAP-3, also known as SAP90/PSD-95-associated protein 3 (SAPAP-3), is a protein encoded by the DLGAP3 gene. Mutations in DLGAP3 have been linked to trichotillomania.
DAP-3 may be involved in the arrangement of synapses and communication between neurons. It could act as a connector, linking ion channels to the cytoskeleton within synapses. It might also increase the amount of PSD-95/SAP90 at the cell surface.
DLGAP3 is also known as DAP3, SAPAP3, SPAPA3.
