DNAJB4

Description

The DNAJB4 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member B4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

DNAJB4 is a gene in humans that encodes the protein DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 4.

DNAJB4 acts as a chaperone protein, assisting in the proper folding of unfolded proteins. It stimulates the breakdown of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and facilitates the folding process in the presence of HSPA1A/B proteins, particularly in laboratory settings.

DNAJB4 is also known as CMYO21, CMYP21, DNAJW, DjB4, HLJ1.
