DUSP18

Description

The DUSP18 (dual specificity phosphatase 18) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.

DUSP18 is an enzyme encoded by the DUSP18 gene in humans. It plays a role in regulating cellular processes by removing phosphate groups from proteins.

DUSP18 can remove phosphate groups from single and double-phosphorylated synthetic MAPK peptides, showing a preference for phosphotyrosine and doubly phosphorylated forms over phosphothreonine. Additionally, it can dephosphorylate p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP) in laboratory settings.

DUSP18 is also known as DSP18, DUSP20, LMWDSP20.
