DUSP28


Description

The DUSP28 (dual specificity phosphatase 28) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

DUSP28 exhibits phosphatase activity towards the synthetic substrate 6,8-difluoro-4-methylumbelliferyl phosphate in vitro (PubMed:24531476, PubMed:29121083). However, it displays minimal activity against phosphotyrosine and even less activity towards phosphothreonine, while showing no activity against phosphoserine (PubMed:29121083). The limited activity with phosphotyrosine might be attributed to steric hindrance from bulky amino acid sidechains that obstruct access to the active site (PubMed:29121083).
