EAPP


Description

The EAPP (E2F associated phosphoprotein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

EAPP, encoded by the EAPP gene, is a nuclear phosphoprotein that interacts with various members of the E2F family, particularly during the cell cycle (except mitosis). This interaction regulates E2F-dependent transcription and promotes cell proliferation.

EAPP plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle by promoting entry into the S-phase and inhibiting the expression of p14(ARP), a protein that inhibits cell cycle progression.

EAPP is also known as BM036, C14orf11.
