Description

Enterococcus faecium is a Gram-positive bacterium commonly found in the intestines of humans and animals. While it is typically harmless, E. faecium can become opportunistic and cause infections in certain circumstances.

  • Endocarditis: E. faecium is a leading cause of endocarditis, a serious infection of the heart valves.
