EREG

Description

The EREG (epiregulin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

Epiregulin (EPR) is a protein composed of 46 amino acids, encoded by the EREG gene in humans. Its structure is characterized by approximately 30% β-sheet content, with loops and turns formed by hydrogen bonding. The percentage of β-sheet varies depending on the domain. Epiregulin exhibits a typical 'all β motif' structure, where polypeptide chains form a continuous chain without crossovers. This structure also includes a β hairpin motif.

EREG is also known as EPR, ER, Ep.
