EXTL2

Description

The EXTL2 (exostosin like glycosyltransferase 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Exostosin-like 2 is a protein encoded by the EXTL2 gene in humans. It is a glycosyltransferase involved in heparan sulfate biosynthesis. EXTL2 is responsible for adding alternating units of glucuronic acid (GlcA) and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) to newly formed heparan sulfate chains.

EXTL2 is a glycosyltransferase that plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of heparan sulfate. It is responsible for the alternating addition of glucuronic acid (GlcA) and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) units to newly formed heparan sulfate chains, ensuring the proper structure and function of this important molecule.

EXTL2 is also known as EXTR2.
