Description

The GDF1 (growth differentiation factor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

GDF1 is a protein encoded by the GDF1 gene in humans. It belongs to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily and is involved in left-right patterning and mesoderm induction during embryonic development. It is found in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves of embryos.

Plays a role in cell differentiation during embryonic development.

GDF1 is also known as CERS1, CHTD6, DORV, DTGA3, LAG1, LASS1, RAI, UOG1.
