FTSJ3

Description

The FTSJ3 (FtsJ RNA 2'-O-methyltransferase 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

FTSJ3 is a human gene that encodes a putative rRNA methyltransferase. While its exact function is unknown, its sequence similarity to the E. coli FtsJ protein and a mouse protein involved in embryogenesis suggests a role in rRNA methylation. The existence of FTSJ3 is supported by mRNA and EST data.

FTSJ3 is also known as EPCS3, SPB1.
