GAK


Description

The GAK (cyclin G associated kinase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

GAK, or GAK, can refer to multiple entities.

GAK associates with cyclin G and CDK5. It functions as an auxilin homolog, participating in the uncoating of clathrin-coated vesicles by Hsc70 in non-neuronal cells. GAK expression fluctuates slightly during the cell cycle, reaching its highest levels in the G1 phase. This protein may contribute to clathrin-mediated endocytosis and intracellular trafficking, as well as the regulation of clathrin assembly and disassembly.

GAK is also known as DNAJ26, DNAJC26.
