GBP4

Description

The GBP4 (guanylate binding protein 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

GBP4 is an interferon-inducible GTPase that plays a crucial role in the innate immune system, defending against various bacterial, viral, and protozoan infections. GBP4 acts as a negative regulator of the antiviral response by suppressing the activation of the IRF7 transcription factor.

GBP4 is also known as Mpa2.
