GPR173

Description

The GPR173 (G protein-coupled receptor 173) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

GPR173 is a protein that is encoded by the GPR173 gene in humans. It is a probable G-protein coupled receptor.

GPR173 is a receptor for the SMIM20-derived peptides Phoenixin-14 and Phoenixin-20. It mediates the augmentation of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) signaling by these peptides in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. In the ovary, it mediates the effects of Phoenixin-14 and Phoenixin-20 on granulosa cell proliferation during follicular growth.

GPR173 is also known as SREB3.
