PDCD7

Description

The PDCD7 (programmed cell death 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

Programmed cell death protein 7 is a protein encoded by the PDCD7 gene in humans. It shares sequence similarity with a mouse protein initially identified in embryonic stem cells. In mouse T-cell lines, this protein is involved in apoptotic pathways triggered by glucocorticoids and staurine, and is linked to ceramide-mediated signaling. These observations suggest its role in specific apoptotic processes within T-cells.

PDCD7 is also known as 59K, ES18, HES18.
