PDCL3
Description
The PDCL3 (phosducin like 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.
PDCL3 acts as a chaperone for the angiogenic VEGF receptor KDR/VEGFR2, increasing its abundance by inhibiting its ubiquitination and degradation. It inhibits the folding activity of the chaperonin-containing T-complex (CCT), leading to inhibition of cytoskeletal actin folding. PDCL3 also acts as a chaperone during heat shock alongside HSP90 and HSP40/70 chaperone complexes and modulates the activation of caspases during apoptosis.
PDCL3 is also known as HTPHLP, PHLP2A, PHLP3, VIAF, VIAF1.
