PIPOX

Description

The PIPOX (pipecolic acid and sarcosine oxidase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

The PIPOX gene encodes a protein called peroxisomal sarcosine oxidase (PSO), also known as L-pipecolate oxidase or L-pipecolic acid oxidase. This enzyme plays a crucial role in the metabolism of sarcosine and L-pipecolic acid.

PIPOX is also known as LPIPOX.
