PLXNB3

Description

The PLXNB3 (plexin B3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

Plexin-B3 is a protein encoded by the PLXNB3 gene in humans. It interacts with ARHGEF11.

PLXNB3 is a receptor for SEMA5A, involved in axon guidance, invasive growth, and cell migration. It stimulates neurite outgrowth and mediates Ca(2+)/Mg(2+)-dependent cell aggregation. In glioma cells, SEMA5A activation of PLXNB3 leads to the breakdown of F-actin stress fibers, disruption of focal adhesions, and cellular collapse, ultimately inhibiting cell migration and invasion through ARHGDIA-mediated inactivation of RAC1.

PLXNB3 is also known as PLEXB3, PLEXR, PLXN6.
