PPIL4 is a human gene encoding an enzyme belonging to the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases. Cyclophilins play crucial roles in protein folding, immunosuppression by cyclosporin A, and HIV-1 virion infection.
PPIL4, also known as Cyclophilin-like protein PPIL4 or Rotamase PPIL4, is a peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) that accelerates protein folding. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides, aiding in the proper conformation of proteins.
PPIL4 is also known as HDCME13P.
