Description
The RGP1 (RGP1 homolog, RAB6A GEF complex partner 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
UDP-arabinopyranose mutase (EC 5.4.99.30), also known as Os03g40270 protein, UAM1, UAM3, RGP1, RGP3, OsUAM1, OsUAM2, Os07g41360 protein, is an enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of UDP-beta-L-arabinofuranose to UDP-beta-L-arabinopyranose.
The RIC1-RGP1 complex functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), activating RAB6A by replacing bound GDP with free GTP. This action is crucial for the efficient merging of endosome-derived vesicles with the Golgi compartment. The RIC1-RGP1 complex plays a role in the recycling of mannose-6-phosphate receptors.
