Description
The SHKBP1 (SH3KBP1 binding protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.
SHKBP1-binding protein 1 (SHKBP1BP1) acts as an inhibitor of EGFR signaling by directly interacting with SH3KBP1 and preventing its association with CBL. This interaction inhibits the translocation of SH3KBP1 to EGFR-containing vesicles upon stimulation with EGF, ultimately suppressing the downregulation of EGFR signaling.
