SNAPC2
Description
The SNAPC2 (small nuclear RNA activating complex polypeptide 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.
SNAPC2, or snRNA-activating protein complex subunit 2, is a human protein encoded by the SNAPC2 gene. It has been shown to interact with SNAPC4.
SNAPC2 is a component of the SNAPc complex, essential for transcribing both RNA polymerase II and III small-nuclear RNA genes. It binds to the proximal sequence element (PSE), a non-TATA-box promoter element common to these gene types. SNAPC2 recruits TBP and BRF2 to the U6 snRNA TATA box.
SNAPC2 is also known as PTFDELTA, SNAP45.
