Description

The SRSF5 (serine and arginine rich splicing factor 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

SRSF5 is involved in the basic process of splicing mRNA, ensuring that the correct protein is produced from a gene. It also plays a crucial role in selecting which parts of a gene are included in the final mRNA, influencing the variety of proteins that can be made.

SRSF5 is also known as HRS, SFRS5, SRP40.
