SUSD4
Description
The SUSD4 (sushi domain containing 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
SUSD4 acts as a complement inhibitor by blocking the formation of the classical C3 convertase. Isoform 3 specifically inhibits the classical complement pathway, while membrane-bound isoform 1 prevents the deposition of C3b through both the classical and alternative complement pathways.
SUSD4 is also known as PRO222.
