THYN1
Description
The THYN1 (thymocyte nuclear protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
THYN1 is a gene that encodes a highly conserved protein among vertebrates and plants. This protein may be involved in apoptosis induction. Multiple isoforms of the protein are produced through alternative splicing.
THYN1 specifically binds 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC), suggesting it plays a role in recognizing and interpreting this modified DNA base.
