TMOD3
Description
The TMOD3 (tropomodulin 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.
Tropomodulin-3 is a protein encoded by the TMOD3 gene in humans.
Tropomodulin-3 inhibits the growth and breakdown of actin filaments at their pointed ends. It forms a complex with tropomyosin (Tmod/TM) that contributes to the formation of short actin protofilaments, shaping the structure of the membrane skeleton.
TMOD3 is also known as UTMOD.
