TYW1B

Description

The TYW1B (tRNA-yW synthesizing protein 1 homolog B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

TYW1B is a component of the wybutosine biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine is a modified guanine nucleotide with a unique tricyclic structure, located at the 3' position adjacent to the anticodon of eukaryotic phenylalanine tRNA. TYW1B catalyzes the formation of 4-demethylwyosine, an intermediate in wybutosine biosynthesis, by combining N-methylguanine with two carbon atoms from pyruvate.

TYW1B is also known as LINC00069, NCRNA00069, RSAFD2.
