UQCC1

Description

The UQCC1 (ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex assembly factor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

UQCC1 plays a critical role in the assembly of the ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex (complex III of the mitochondrial respiratory chain). This complex is essential for cellular energy production. UQCC1 is involved in the translation and stability of cytochrome b, a key component of complex III.

UQCC1 is also known as BFZB, C20orf44, CBP3, UQCC.
